You didn't mention Doom: The Boardgame! :-)
Somehow, though, a plastic demon is more fun to play with than a brightly-painted wooden block...

ZOMG! I MUST HAVE! Where can I get it???????????
(Note to the humour-impaired: that was sarcasm. I know some people have a hard time telling when I'm using humour, so just to warn you, I'M USING HUMOUR)

AND DRAGONS! ... AND SPACE SHIPS TO CARRY THE DRAGONS!!!!11!111!1
Plastic dragons pwn your little wooden blocks any day!
That's what I was going to say too.
I played Wolfenstein 3-D in grade 10: the original FPS, also by Apogee and iD.
Yup, we played Wolf3D in junior high! :)
I started playing Doom I in Junior High, I played Wolf3D before that. :)
I don't remember Doom I that well. It seems that Doom II quickly replaced it.
Not really. For some of us, Doom II always felt like a cheap imitation.
Ultimate Doom was a nice tribute though. They added a fourth episode and everything.
Ooooo demonic plushy! :) I want to hug it. heh.
I wonder how hard it is to learn to design custom plushies. I'd love to take a workshop in Toronto to learn this skill.
CUUUUUUTE! I love him!
I've made my own plushies before. It's easy if you have a sewing machine and some basic sewing skillz. I'm sure you could get some nice odds and ends at the fabric stores around Queen West.
Man Doom II came out when I was like 8. I played the hell out of it as a kid (HAR HAR.)
that john romero chick is hot.
He's a boy!! But I do like girly looking boys.
I worked with Dave Taylor of Doom and Quake fame while I was at Transmeta. (He wrote once in a README, "I ported Doom to Linux because Linux gives me a woodie".)
He cleans up pretty too, but in a much more masculine way.
it was a reference, i can't link to it because the penny arcade archive is temporarily offline :(
Golly. I remember playing Demon Stalkers in the very early 90s on my Atari PC2 (an IBM clone which had built in VGA, oh joy!). Never quite got to Doom, though I did used to play Captain Comic and Duke Nuke'em. I also loved Empire Deluxe but nowadays getting the time to play anything more than just a few minutes seems difficult. Loved the plush Eye of Beholder.
Oh, I remember playing Gauntlet in arcades. :)
I should be more excited about that announcement, but right now too busy smiling because you mentioned the Roguelike. |
