Why oh why does Google Maps use the Mercator projection?? It looks like ass when you're interested in polar regions like Nunavut and Antarctica. It's an insult to circumpolar peoples! It only looks fine near the equator or when you zoom in at city level.
Greenland is supposed to be over 8 times smaller than South America!!
Why not just take the centre point and view Earth as if you were really looking at it, general perspective projection, sort of like in Google Earth?? Whyyy!! |
